If you order some makeup brush sets from a makeup brush manufacturer, and have not enough time to check every brush’s quality after receiving. We suggest you check the lip brush at first.

That is because lip brush is easies to have quality problem. If there are powder brushes, blush brushes, foundation brushes, eye brushes, lip brushes etc in the makeup brush set, all other brushes have the same inspection standard, that is : no lose bristles, no marks on ferrule and handle, the handle and ferrule should be smooth and straight etc. It is easy to check the quality, and will cost less time.

While for lip brushes, it is different, besides the above quality concerns, you should pay attention to the following possible problems:

1.       If the bristle top is tipped, according to the working instruction of lip brushes, each lip brush bristle should be tipped, if not, the lip brush is not qualified;

2.       If the bristle is covered with a tube;

3.       If any bristles is backward by the tube. As each lip brush should have a tube cover on the bristles, it requires a lot on the techniques and is easy to have backward bristles, while backward bristles is not qualified.

Due to the service to custom makeup brushes, each customer has different requirement on the brush size, therefore there is no standard package for the makeup brush, and even the outside carton size is the same, the inner package is different. Some may have inner carton, while some only have OPP bags. So the workers of the makeup brush factory firstly put the same quantity in the inner package, and then count the quantity by the quantity of inner package, for example, each inner package has 100pcs and there are 10 packages, then they though the quantity must be 1000pcs. However, the quantity is counted by human beings not machine, so maybe there are 101pcs or 99pcs in one package, so the total quantity may more or less than 1000pcs.

 

Generally, we will put 2pcs more in each carton in case of such mistake, so the exact shipping quantity is usually more than the order quantity. Anyway, we are not able to promise that it is always the case.

After years of cooperation and contact with Chinese people, they have been too familiar with the way to negotiate with Chinese; they know how to get the best price from a Chinese makeup brush factory with the good quality. Now American and Canada customers pay a little more attention on the price even if quality is still very important to them.

Then we will send them the pictures of our existing kabuki brushes for their reference, and if they like some of them, we will then quote them accordingly and send them the detailed information of the existing brushes.

The MOQ of our makeup brushes

Most customers will ask a same question before they decide to custom makeup brushes from a makeup brush factory, that is: what is the MOQ of your makeup brushes?

Why customers do not reply emails

I think most international sales will meet a same problem: the customers do not reply emails. Many of them are so crazy: why they do not reply my email? They write to me and say they want to buy our products, but they never reply my email…….

 

For me, I have been in international business of makeup brushes for 5 years, and I often can not get reply from my customers, at first, I can not understand and become anxious, but gradually I become calm and summarize the following possible reasons ( take makeup brushes for example):

 

1.       The customers do not reply maybe just because they really do not need the makeup brushes, they are not the potential customers and may be annoyed to get so many junk-emails, so some will pull our email address to the blacklist, some may reply you like this: please remove me from your email list etc. For such customers, it is better to not send any email to them any more.

2.       Some are really the potential customers, they do not reply your email at once because they have no demand at present, once they have demand, they will contact you. Therefore, some will not reply you until they have inquiry, some may politely reply like this: we will contact you once we have such demand. For such customers, we should keep them updated of our latest makeup brush pictures and information.

3.       Some customers directly send emails to us and would like to wholesale or custom makeup brushes from us. But after we reply them, they just disappear and never reply our emails again. After following the emails for many times, we still can not get any reply. That maybe because they send such emails to so many makeup brush manufacturers and then get so many replies which need a long time to handle, so they can not reply at once; or because they just want to get some information, and once get the required information, they will never appear.

4.       Some customers ask for quotation of the certain makeup brushes, and after quotation, we can not get any reply from them. That is mostly because they are not satisfied with our price. They purchased from other makeup brush suppliers or factories before and would like to get a better price, but our price is not so competitive, therefore, they think it is not necessary to contact us anymore.

5.       There are so many other reasons, for example, the purchasing are just on vacation; or the change of personnel, the substitute are not told to reply our email; or the customers decide to cancel the project etc, too many possible reasons.

 

As an international sales, no matter of what kind of reason, we should be patient and try best to ensure timely and effective communication with our customers. Also, we really hope that our customers can timely give us any feedback, so that we can move forward accordingly, which will save the time of both sides. If you are not interested in our makeup brushes, please just reply: no need or something like this, then we will not disturb you anymore; if you think our price is high, please just let us know your target, so that we can check if we can negotiate; if you are too busy at present, just reply: busy, reply you later…….Just like this.

 

We think business is the issue of both suppliers and customers, we should work together to get win-win.

If the delivery date of makeup brushes has to be delayed

Having been in makeup brush business for ten years, we always try our best to meet the delivery date, however, it is still avoidless that sometimes we can not delivery on time, we really hope to get understanding from our customers. As a makeup brush manufacturer, we can not always control everything.

 

Sometimes, while quotation, our customers are not satisfied to the lead time we offer, and ask for a best delivery date, then we will offer them a best time which will not allow anything wrong. But it is impossible that everything will always move on well, sometimes the raw material suppliers may go wrong, sometimes the production or inspection or transportation etc, each section may have some problem!

 

Sometimes, the material supplier can not offer the material as promised; sometimes, emergency issues during productions; sometimes everything goes on well, while at the final inspection, some makeup brushes may not pass the inspection and need to rework; sometimes, all packages have been ready for shipment, while something wrong with the forwarder……..

 

Sometimes, our promised date may be like this: 25 days after getting payment. But some customers may firstly transfer the money while the requirements on the makeup brushes are still not clear yet, and due to the time delay of international business, when everything confirmed, maybe 5 days have passed, so the delivery date has to be delayed.

 

We will try best to meet the delivery date no matter what happened, while if delay is inevitable, we will immediately inform customers via email, and at the same time, do everything we can do to expedite the makeup brush production and shorten the delay.

 

If you custom makeup brushes in our factory, and unfortunately the brushes shipment is delayed, please kindly forgive and understand us, we always hope to delivery the makeup brushes as we promised or even sooner.

The certificates of makeup brushes

It is known that most European and American customers will require some certificates before they buy products from the Chinese factories.

 

As for makeup brushes, our customers also require the certificates like environment-protection, cruelty-free etc. We understand that the customers care a lot about the animal and environment protection, they need to ensure that no animal is killed or hurt during our makeup brushes manufacturing. They must ensure that the makeup brush manufacturers follow all regulations.

 

We can promise that our makeup brushes are environment-friendly, all raw material and dyeing material used on the brushes meet environment protection standard. Also our brushes are cruelty-free.

 

For the animal hairs, according to the different demand during custom makeup brushes, we use up all part of animal hairs, the entire animals are used with no dispose or waste: the low grade hair will be used on the low grade brushes for the customers who pay most on price, the medium hair will be used for ordinalry makeup brushes, and the high-grade hair will be used on the top grade makeup brushes. My participating of the 16th CBE in Shanghai on May 18th, 2011

Yesterday, as the sales of our makeup brush factory, I participated in the 16^th CEB in Shanghai.

 

I entered into the hall at about 9:30, the ticket is free for visitors as long as you can offer two name cards and fill in a paper.

 

I firstly entered into the W2 hall, as I had viewed the introduction before and got known that W2 is the hall for cosmetics and perfume exhibitors, as well as the related accessory exhibitors, which must include the makeup brush manufacturers.

 

There were a lot of shows in the hall, many exhibitors tried their best to attract people, their booths were also beautiful and attractive, with the interesting shows and live makeup show, many visitors stopped to watch.

 

Many famous cosmetics brands had their booths in W2, including many Koran, Japan and Italian brands. However, most are color cosmetics brands, there are only about 5 booths for makeup brushes, most of the visitors are foreigners, some of them are very interested to the exhibited makeup brushes, so it can prove that makeup brush industry is very potential.

 

I also visited W1, W3, E1 and E2 halls, though I really wanted to visit more halls, it is too hot and tired, and the Brochures and samples get from the exhibitors are so heavy, so I was out of the hall on about 4:00pm. I was very happy to get many free masks and Trial packs.

 

If possible, hope our factory can be an exhibitor of the CEB next year, I think it will must bring a lot of business for the makeup brush factory through joining the exhibition. Many international and internal customers may wholesale or custom makeup brushes after visiting our showroom and booth.

For some customers, the makeup brush factory should offer free samples for their evaluation at the very beginning, and only after their confirmation of the makeup brush quality, they can consider the next step. For them, the makeup brush manufacturers should seize all possible opportunities to establish cooperation with them even lose some money at the very beginning.

HJF and BJF hair

Many foreign customers may not understand why Chinese makeup brush factory always asks them what grade of goat hair they prefer, HJF or BJF? As they can not understand what does HJF and BJF means.

 

HJF and BJF is an abbreviation of the Chinese saying: Huang Jian Feng and Bai Jian Feng, as it is hard to explain and translate these materials into English, most people directly use this Chinese abbreviation to show the different level of goat hair. HJF and BJF are the most popular goat hair used on high-grade makeup brushes.

 

In fact, there are more than 20 grades of goat hair: Xi Guang Feng (XGF), Zhong Guang Feng (ZGF), Bai Jian Feng (BJF), Huang Jian Feng (HJF), Ti Jian Feng (TJF), #0, #2, double drawn etc. Among them, XGF is the best quality and most expensive, fewer customers and users can afford the makeup brushes with XGF or ZGF.

If customers place an order to custom makeup brushes with different material, we will feedback the general lead time, which is usually the lead time to finish all brushes in the order. Although some brushes may be finished much sooner, we will wait until all items are finished, so that they can be shipped together to save some freight charge for customers.

 

However, if the order quantity is too large, and customers prefer some partial shipment, we are also ok with that. We will send the makeup brushes which come out first for customers’ urgent use.

Some points for attention during initial communication with makeup brush customers

During the initial communication with the customers, you should clearly understand customer requirements and ensure that customers have understood your real meaning too.

Generally, in makeup brush business, there are two kinds of customers: those want to custom makeup brushes and those prefer wholesale makeup brushes of your existing types. You should communicate with them in different ways.

4.       The length of each part, the reason is the same as item 3, size decides the material usage.

5.       If any certification is required. Usually during the quotation of makeup brushes, the test fee will not be included, if customers need any certification, they should pay the extra fee according to different tests.

6.       If customers have not any detailed requirements, it is also ok to know their target price. What you pay, what you get, the factory or manufacturer can suggest material and size according to the target price.
