For profits, some manufacturers may aim to get profits as more as they can, so they quote rather high price.

About sample confirmation

Sample confirmation is a very important step during custom makeup brushes. Since there is no standard on the size/material/color of makeup brushes, the makeup brush factory produces brushes completely accord to customer’s description, no one can ensure the produced brushes are 100% meet customer’s requirements. Therefore, the sample confirmation before mass production is very essential.

If customers offer the prototypes of the brushes they need, the makeup brush factory should exact copy the prototypes including the logo; if customers have no prototypes but only pictures plus description, the makeup brush factory should also try best to send customers the exact brushes.

After getting samples, customers should check ASAP to confirm if the brushes are ok for them. If not, they should immediately tell the makeup brush manufacturer: why not ok? Which part is not ok? How they want the brushes to be? So that the manufacturer can make new samples for confirmation; if ok, they should understand that once they give their confirmation, they should not require any change on the brushes during the mass production, and they would like to get bulk brushes exactly the same as samples.

For the makeup brush manufacturer, once getting customers’ confirmation on samples, they should ensure the bulk brushes should have the same quality and appearance as the samples. If the bulk brushes are found to be inferior to samples, the customers have the right to cancel the order; it is ok if the bulk brushes are in better quality than samples, but the appearance should have no any change. However, since samples are sent to customers to confirm bulk brushes, it is the best that the bulk brushes are exactly the same as samples, otherwise, it may arise some dispute even if the bulk brushes’ quality is better than samples.

If customers want to cancel order

Not all business will have a happy ending. As a professional makeup brush factory, since we have reach agreement with customers, we will certainly fulfill the contract even if the order makes a loss to us. But some customers may cancel orders due to the following reasons:

 

1)      It is known that our payment terms is 50% deposit and 50% before shipment, and we will firstly make samples for customers’ confirmation before mass production. Sometimes, customers confirmed samples and paid deposit, however, after a certain period, they believe that the makeup brushes are not what they really like, so they want to cancel the order.

2)      Some customers did not do enough research on their local market before custom makeup brushes, and they finally find that the makeup brushes can not sell well at their location, so they want to cancel the order;

3)      Some customers really want the makeup brushes they have ordered, and the brushes are also popular in their location, it is totally a problem to sell them at local market. However, to play tricks and reduce the cost, they require canceling the order. But the makeup brushes have been finished by the brush manufacturer, so after cancelling the order, the customer will ask somebody in china to source such brushes in our location with very low price. To clear such useless brushes, some makeup brush manufacturers has to sell the brushes with extremely low price. Therefore, the customer can get brushes with much lower cost than before.

 

While requiring cancelling the order, some customers require full refund of they deposit, it is really unreasonable! No matter why customers cancel the order, it is not our responsibility; and according to international legal, deposit is not refundable. After getting deposit, we order material and prepare production, some customers cancel the order nearly before shipment, it is really a great loss for us, and we can not sell the brushes to others since the brushes have been printed customer’s logo. We have suffered a lot during such order cancelling, if deposit is also refundable, every customer can randomly cancel the order, then who protect the benefit of suppliers and manufacturers?

Hot melt glue VS AB glue

It is known that we need glue to stick makeup brush heads, ferrule and handle during brush production. There are various glues in the market, some are good but expensive, and some are cheap but with bad quality. If the glue is not so good, the brush head may fall apart from the handle under slight pull force.

 

For makeup brushes, the most two common glues are hot melt glue and AB glue. Hot melt glue can dry very quickly but not so strong, so if you pull the brush strongly, it will fall apart. But if not pull it, it will not fall apart. Hot melt glue is usually used on samples and low grade quality makeup brushes. AB glue is extremely strong; the brushes will not fall apart no matter how you pull it. AB glue is usually used on high grade makeup brushes or low grade brushes if customers have such requirement.

 

Some may ask why not use AB glue on all brushes. Because AB glue need so long time to dry up, few Chinese makeup brush manufacturer will use AB glue on samples or low grade brushes unless upon customers’ requirements. The hot melt glue only needs little time to dry up while AB glue needs more than 4 hours. Therefore, if the delivery time is urgent, some manufacturers will use hot melt glue on the brushes.

 

For us who specialize in high grade makeup brushes, we always use AB glue on batch shipment. Sometimes we use hot melt glue on samples if customers require samples urgently. Therefore, some customers may find that our samples may fall apart when they strongly pull the brushes, so they thought our brush quality are not good at all. In fact, we always use AB glue during batch production, so the brushes will never fall apart. It is not really the quality problem. Anyway, to avoid of such misunderstanding, we will use AB glue on all brushes even if samples in all future orders, so that customers can trust our brush quality.

A good camera is important during custom makeup brushes

A good camera is very important to both makeup brush manufacturers and customers.

 

For makeup brush manufacturers:

 

Firstly, we need to put some pictures of makeup brushes on our website to show our production ability and quality. If the camera is not so good, we will not be able to show the real status of the brushes, and then customers can not get enough information from the pictures.

 

Secondly, unclear and ugly pictures will not attract any customer; no customer will order the makeup brushes they do not like. Some may say that we can use Photoshop to modify and beautify the pictures to reach a perfect affect. But it always depends on the original photo quality. No matter how perfect you PS skill are, you need a good original photo.

But to save shipping cost and time, some customers want to confirm the samples by photos. Firstly, before ordering the makeup brushes, customers will need to show the makeup brush factory what kind of brushes they want. The best way is to send real samples to the makeup brush factory, but it will waste time and money, also some customers may need brushes which combine several brushes, if they buy all these brushes and then send to factory, it will need a lot of money; it is really not cost effective for customers to pay so much without finalizing everything. So the most cost effective way is to take photo for all brushes they need, specify their detailed requirements, and require the makeup brush factory to roughly quote according to the photos. If the price and all other condition are ok for both, they can consider the next step such as sending real samples to the brush factory.

 

Secondly, after getting the brushes which are unqualified, customers can take photos of the unqualified brushes to show the factory how these brushes are unqualified. Such photos should clearly show the details of the defects, otherwise, the brush factory will not accept one-sided statements of customers.

The brushes with critical or major defect must be returned to the makeup brush manufacturer for reproduction; the makeup brushes with minor defect can be returned to the manufacturer for rework, or customers can improve or solve the problem at their own location if possible.

Functional Test of makeup brushes

After receiving the makeup brushes from the manufacturer, most customers will have their own Incoming Inspection system to check if the makeup brushes are qualified. Some customers only have quick and rough checking on the appearance or touching, while some have strict and detailed inspection and test process.
