How to get gathered makeup brush heads

During makeup brush production, brush head is the most important part, as it will directly decides the makeup effect. So customers and users concern the brush shape very much.

For some precise makeup brushes, brush heads must be very gathered. But due to the characteristics of the hairs especially natural hairs which originally spread, it is really hard to get the required gathered shape just through the workers craft.

Usually, we have the following process to get more gathered brush heads:

1. The most common and easiest way is to put the brushes into brush guard after finished, and after certain period, the brush head will become gathered.

2. Use food degree sodium alginate glue to gather the hairs, such glue is food degree and no harm to human skins, and after dried, it will become powder, we just need to whisk the hairs to remove the powder.

3. If the above ways still cannot reached required gathered effect, we can vertically dip the brush head into boiled water for about 10 seconds. Please note that only brush heads into the boiled water, no ferrule or handle. And please ensure all hairs are soaked. After boiled, the hairs will become more gathered due to shrink. Such shrink will not affect the hair texture or softness. Then take out of the brush heads from water and do some shaping by hands, and air-dry the brushes. Of course, if put into brush guard, that will be better.

Although makeup brush production is handmade, to get satisfied shape and effect, it is really a complex process. All makeup brush workers are craftsman!

If customers do not pickup the brushes they ordered

Just like other makeup brush factories, our payment terms is also 50% prepayment and 50% before shipment. After getting the 50% prepayment, we will start mass production and notify customers once the production is finished. Many customers will arrange the pickup or shipment after getting our notice. However, although it is seldom, due to some reasons, some customers do not arrange shipment in time or just do not arrange the shipment and leave the makeup brushes in our stock.

Usually, we should not keep the makeup brushes for customers in our inventory, as we have fully paid our material suppliers and afforded all related production cost, if in our inventory, we will not have enough funds to keep our normal production. However, some customers really meet big difficult situations and are not able to pay the balance in time, in this case, to support customers, we can keep the brushes for no more than 1 month. We cannot always keep the brushes, after one month, we have to handle these brushes in our own way.

Some customers just do not want the brushes they have ordered. Although they have paid 50% prepayment, due to some reason, they just give up and do not want the brushes any more, so they will not pay the balance. It is really a great loss for the makeup brush manufacturer. But we have no way, not have to sell the brushes by ourselves. Although the brushes are private labeled, we have our own platform to sell them to recover our lost.

Makeup brush handle/ferrule process: matt or shiny

Color choice is one of the most important issue during customization makeup brushes. Customers can choose hair/ferrule/handle colors through http://www.cal-print.com/InkColorChart.htm  and tell the makeup brush factory of the pantone color code. 

However, for ferrules and handles, the surface process is also very important. As the surface process makes the color to be shiny or matt. For example, although customers require black handle, the black handle can be shiny black, matt black, 30% shiny level,100% shiny.... If customers are not sure about the exact surface process, it is the best to send the physical samples of the makeup brushes they want to the makeup brush factory for exact copy.

Many customers prefer matt color due to the elegant appearance. Not like shiny color which shows youth, enthusiasm and vigour, matt color reveals mature, noble and elegant. Therefore, many professional makeup artists choose makeup brushes with matt colors on ferrules and handles.

But customers should note that matt color will be easily polluted and scratched. Daily touch will make the matt handles dirty, and after some period, the matt color may become shiner due to daily touching by handles/fingers. It is not the quality problem, but the characteristics of matt color. Customers who care such issue should not choose matt color for their brushes.

n-hexane in makeup brush production process

As makeup brush production is totally manual, to get required excellent shape/effect, our workers cannot wear gloves in the whole production process. Therefore, during assembly and packaging, it will unavoidably more or less cause or leave some hints on the makeup brushes. Before shipment, our workers will wipe off these hints with special cleaner, which is called n-Hexane, in Chinese, it is also called white gas.

n-Hexane is a chemical made from crude oil. Pure n-Hexane is used in laboratories. Most of the n-Hexane used in industry is mixed with similar chemicals called solvents. The major use for solvents containing n-Hexane is to extract vegetable oils from crops such as soybeans. These solvents are also used as cleaning agents in the printing, textile, furniture, and shoemaking industries.

If makeup brush users receive brushes with some hint, and care it very much, you can also wipe off with n-Hexane by yourselves. In most countries, n-Hexane can be bought from hardware shop.

The rapid development of makeup brushes requires new design on makeup brush color, style and especially material. Although traditional makeup artists still prefer traditional design and material, that is traditional shape with natural hair. Now young people have become the main makeup group, they have more requirements on creative design, also concern more on environment protection. MCF also does a great job when applying powders, liquid precisely and blending the products naturally.The hair is made using leading edge Nano technology, where the surface of the synthetic fiber is “etched” using unique micron crystallized particles.
