Dry matter in makeup brush package

For these customers who require outer packaging for their makeup brush sets or single makeup brushes, we usually put a sealed bag and a desiccant in each package to avoid of moisture.

 

If customers order large quantity brushes and need about one year to sell all the brushes out, it will be very essential to have a sealed bag and a desiccant in the package. It is known that the outer package is usually carton material; if no dry matter, the moisture can easily cause the package and brushes go moldy.

 

The sealed bag is a clear PP bag which can prevent the brushes from water; and the desiccant can prevent the moisture. We usually will not charge extra fee for them as long as customers have no special requirement on the dry matter.

Makeup brushes without handle

As a professional makeup brush manufacturer who has been in this field for 10 years, we often receive various inquiries. Although we mainly offer whole makeup brushes, sometimes, customers only need brush heads which just include brush hair and ferrule, bottom of ferrule is left open, and customers will assemble the handles themselves after getting the heads.

 

To buy makeup brushes without handles, customers should let the makeup brush factory know the following information:

 

1.       Hair material and color

2.       Hair length

3.       Ferrule material and color

4.       Ferrule size: length*diameter

5.       the diameter of the handle top which connects the ferrule

6.       Package requirement of the brush head

 

If customers have specific handle size to connect the heads, they must send the exact handle size to the makeup brush factory; if customers have no specific size requirement on the heads or ferrules but only need normal size, that is also ok; however, the hair and ferrule material is the essential information, as the hair/ferrule material varies a lot and will greatly affect the price.

 

If possible, it will be the best if the customers can offer samples to the makeup brush factory, so that the factory can know the exact size and material; if samples are unavailable, the factory should send samples for customers’ confirmation before mass production.

How to negotiate on MOQ

What is negotiation? According to Wikipedia: negotiation is a process where each party involved in negotiating tries to gain an advantage for themselves by the end of the process. Negotiation is intended to aim at compromise. So, during negotiation, both parties should firstly let the other party know your target and what you need, and then do the negotiation accordingly.

 

For makeup brushes, the most common topic we should negotiate is not price but the MOQ. At the very beginning, we will tell customers that our MOQ is 1000pcs each. We have explained the reason why the MOQ should be 1000pcs in previous articles. While, we often find that customers will disappear after knowing our MOQ. Some customers will tell us that they can not meet our MOQ, so it is no necessary for further discussion.

 

In fact, it is really imprudent to give up at such early step. We know that the customers must source many suppliers for one enquiry; they believe it is no necessary for further discussion with those suppliers who can not offer the best condition at the very beginning. While, without knowing customers any situation or information, it is hard for us to offer our best condition and terms at the very beginning. After receiving any inquiry on makeup brushes, we always ask about customers demand quantity, but only get reply like: please just let us know your MOQ.

 

It will be the best if customers can firstly tell the makeup brush manufacturer their order quantity, then the manufacturer will check if they can do such quantity. Sometimes, as long as the customers really need the brush and will place orders, the makeup brush factory will agree to make just 500pcs each or even 300pcs each even if it is more difficult. However, the customers disappear without any further discussion or explanation.

 

Most makeup brush manufacturers will receive tens inquiry emails every day, it is impossible to tell all customers that their MOQ is 300pcs each since so small quantity is very hard to handle.

 

We believe success cooperation should be after some negotiation; we believe negotiation will finally make both parties satisfied. We really hope that customers can give us more chances for further negotiation or discussion if possible.

About Sigma brushes

It is known that Sigma brushes are originally copied from MAC brushes, most of their professional makeup brushes like powder brush, blush brush, eye brushes etc are exactly the same as MAC brushes.

Crystals on brush handles

It is known that brush handle material can be wooden, plastic and metal. Usually, the handle color is one color such as black, white, red etc and only with customers’ logo on the handle. But some customers will also require more decoration on the handles, crystals is a common choice for such decoration.

Some customers will require only 1-5 crystals on the handle, which is easy and will not interfere with applying the make up; and crystal size can be small or a little large depends on customers’ requirements; also the customers’ logo can also be printed on the handle.

Some customers will require the crystals to be made in certain shape or letters, for example a flower shape and customers’ logo shape. It will need more crystals, and the crystal size should be smaller, otherwise, it will interfere with applying the makeup.

There are also some customers who require crystals glued all over the handles. In this case, the crystal size must be very tiny, or it will be difficult to use such makeup brushes. Some may ask: if crystals are all over the handles, where to print the customers’ logo? Usually, the logo will be stamped on the ferrule.

If customers would like to custom makeup brushes with crystals on handles, besides the normal information such as the brush size/material/color etc, they should also offer the following information to the makeup brush manufacturer: crystal size, crystal shape, crystal color, crystal quantity and position on each brush. Also, customers should be aware that although crystal can make the brushes more shinning, the extra cost will be high.

Customers decide their brushes

Recently, we are almost crazy by a customer.

It is known that our MOQ is 500pcs each at least, but she only needs 100pcs, then we express our apology for not be able to help her. We believe that she must give up and look for another makeup brush supplier. Such issue often happens.

However, she called again and again to require us to make 100pcs for her. Customer is god; it is really hard for us to refuse her again and again, so we finally agree to make 100pcs for her just in high price. She accepts.

At the very beginning, she required MAC quality brushes, so we sent her the quotation. After getting the quotation, she was satisfied and said she will arrange the payment ASAP. Then we began to order materials for production.

But, in the next day, she called us again and asked if we can change the hair color, ferrule color and handle shape. Due to the low order quantity, any change will cause cost increase, so we quoted her new price and canceled the material order to wait for her update.

Unfortunately, she had a new idea on the brushes in the next morning, and would like to have two-tone color for each brush, that is really hard for such low quantity, we told her that will greatly increase the cost and it will be better if she can increase the quantity. She refused and said price was not a problem. So we quoted her again and express our hope that she can finalize the brush types she need and then contacted us for quotation.

She agreed and said she would put the brushes together and then sent to us. Anyway, the same situation happened everyday, we heard the same sentence everyday: if I do not want this type, can you suggest another proper one for me...? This really tortured us.

Although we have expressed that she should decide and finalize every detail on the brushes, and then ask for quotation from the makeup brush supplier, she still persist in her old ways.

We really hope that such issue not happen again or at least not happen often. As a makeup brush manufacturer, we are professional than some customers who just step into this field, it is ok to give some of our suggestion. However, for custom makeup brushes, customers decide everything. It will make us crazy if we always quote and quote but customers always change their ideas and preference.
