Recently, most area of China have rainstorms and great temperature drop, especially in our location. The rainy day has greatly affects our production schedule.

 

The one who is familiar with makeup brush production must know that weather has great affects on the production process. The main reason is the humid environment is bad for painting and logo drying.

 

To customize makeup brushes from us, most customers have their own requirements on the handle color, and also require their own logo to be printed on the handle. Therefore, we need to paint the handles to the required color, and after the handle becomes completely dry, we can then print the logo on the handle, and only after the logo also completely dry, we can do the assemble.

 

The drying of painting and logo are mostly depends on the weather, in the sunny and dry days, this process can be finished quickly, while in moist and cool days, it will need much more days. Although the makeup brush manufacturer can also use big electric fans to speed up the airflow, it can not help too much in moist day.

 

Therefore, if we meet continue rainy day during the production, it must will delay the production. For example, our normal production lead time is 30 days, although we have been in consideration of some rainy days in this period, if it rains for about 20 days or more, the production period must been more than 35 days. That is also why the lead time in summer is shorter than in winter.

 

To support customers, we always try best to meet the required delivery date, but if we delay several days due to the weather reason, we really hope to get understanding from customers, after all, we can not control any weather or environment factor.

 

 

The flaws of makeup brushes

Makeup brush production is totally manual work, therefore, flaws is somewhat avoidless during production. Some flaws must be improved, while some flaws can be accepted if not affect the usage or appearance.

 

The makeup brushes with the following flaws must be reworked by the makeup brush manufacturer:

1.       Visible apperance flaws: makeup brush is a kind of beauty products or art products, even if we can not require 100% perfect, we can not accept visible flaws on apperance, for example,ferrule nicks. Although we know that the small nicks will not affact our makeup applying, it will affect our mood once we see the nicks during each apply.

2.       inproper bristle shape: to gain perfect makeup, each brush should have their special bristle shape, such as dome, flat or taper. While for some makeup brushes, although the whole shape is good and as required, but after carefully checking, we may find that some position does not conform with the whole shape, so it just look like a gap. Which will not only affect the powder holding but also the apperance.

 

Although the above flaws can not be called quality problem, it really can not be accepted, it can be improved by proper skill

 

However, some flaws can not be avoided, they are caused by the material itself or manual work characteristics, for example:

1.       The wood texture or small salient point: wood is natural products, we can not control its grow, what we can do is to cut them into required shape. Therefore, customers should understand the texture difference of handles, and can not require to rework such difference. No makeup brush factory can gurantee that all brushes are 100% the same. Also, there will be a small salient point on some makeup brush handles. It is very normal for wooden handle.

2.       small and invisible glue mark: our workers gather the bristles by glue, connect the ferrule and handle by glue, adhere brush rolls and holders by glue. Glue is a essential material during makeup brush, so glue marks are inevitable during brush production. Although we will wipe off the visible glue marks during quality inspection, some invisible glue marks may be missed, and can not be found or wiped off. Users should understand that manual work is controlled by human beings, and no manual work can be perfect.

The shaping of makeup brush hairs

Many customers like MAC brush very much, especially the hair shape. Therefore, during custom makeup brushes from the makeup brush factory, they will require exact copy of MAC brushes; however, some customers finally find that their brush hairs can not reach the same appearance as MAC brushes, even if the quality and touching is the same.

Some customers can not understand why some brush hairs fray out but MAC brush hairs can centralize and keep good shape.

The key is the hair processing during makeup brush production. Besides Sterilization, combing Hairs and mounding hairs, to reach good appearance, the workers should also washing and shaping hairs with special solution, so that the hairs can keep shapes after drying, and will not fray out or deform.

Also, if the order quantity is too low, the manufacturers will also skip such process. Usually, such process will require 5000pcs MOQ at least.

5)      Test institutes: Some countries require certain certificates on makeup brushes, so customers would like to get such certificates in China, then we will need to send some samples to the test institutes; if the samples can pass the test, we will get the required certificates or test report.

Seaweed powder in makeup brush production

The seaweed powder we mention here is not for skin care, but a kind of synthetic glue powder which is used to stick hairs during makeup brush production. The seaweed powder can be dissolved quickly to transparent glue within cool water, it is a kind of environment-friendly products without poison or pollution, and can thicken, tackify and hold moisture.

Most makeup brush manufacturers will use seaweed powder to stick hairs together during makeup brush production, especially for the makeup brushes which need pointy tips, for example, eye shadow brushes, eyeliner brushes, lip brushes etc.

After the glue made from seaweed powder drying up, it will become powders, so some customers will consider them as dust and really wonder what is the dust and where the dust come from. In fact, it is not dust but powder. Customers should not consider such powder as quality problem. If some customers really care of such powder, you can clean the brushes before your first usage to wash off the powders.

Some customers wonder if the seaweed powder will be harmful to human skin or health, it is no need to worry, the seaweed powder can even be eaten, so completely no harm to human skin or health. If customers can not 100% relax on this, please also wash the brushes with brush cleaner. But the seaweed powder is really no harm.

Seaweed powder is much more expensive than other glue, we use so expensive material just aim to offer the best makeup brushes to our customers.

Hot melt glue VS AB glue

It is known that we need glue to stick makeup brush heads, ferrule and handle during brush production. There are various glues in the market, some are good but expensive, and some are cheap but with bad quality. If the glue is not so good, the brush head may fall apart from the handle under slight pull force.

 

For makeup brushes, the most two common glues are hot melt glue and AB glue. Hot melt glue can dry very quickly but not so strong, so if you pull the brush strongly, it will fall apart. But if not pull it, it will not fall apart. Hot melt glue is usually used on samples and low grade quality makeup brushes. AB glue is extremely strong; the brushes will not fall apart no matter how you pull it. AB glue is usually used on high grade makeup brushes or low grade brushes if customers have such requirement.

 

Some may ask why not use AB glue on all brushes. Because AB glue need so long time to dry up, few Chinese makeup brush manufacturer will use AB glue on samples or low grade brushes unless upon customers’ requirements. The hot melt glue only needs little time to dry up while AB glue needs more than 4 hours. Therefore, if the delivery time is urgent, some manufacturers will use hot melt glue on the brushes.

 

For us who specialize in high grade makeup brushes, we always use AB glue on batch shipment. Sometimes we use hot melt glue on samples if customers require samples urgently. Therefore, some customers may find that our samples may fall apart when they strongly pull the brushes, so they thought our brush quality are not good at all. In fact, we always use AB glue during batch production, so the brushes will never fall apart. It is not really the quality problem. Anyway, to avoid of such misunderstanding, we will use AB glue on all brushes even if samples in all future orders, so that customers can trust our brush quality.

Continuous rainstorm affects our normal production

The recent heavy rainstorm in china has become the disaster to us, it not only caused death to more than 100 people, but also caused huge economy lost, and also greatly affected our daily life and production.

Firstly, the rainstorm causes the delay on our incoming material. As a makeup brush manufacturer, we have ordered material for makeup brush production, however, due to the heavy rain, the transportations are always delayed. Usually, the material will reach us within 3 days after shipment, but now it is still hold on Transport Company to wait for rain stopping. We can not blame the transport company since it is force majeure.

Secondly, the rainstorm brings moist weather and environment in our workshop, which will cause our production delay. We have explained a lot on why and how the moist environment affects our production, here repeat no more.

Thirdly, the rainstorm and bad road conditions also affect our shipment to customers. Most of our customers are international customers, so we usually ship via air or sea. However, our local forwarder will not agree to pick up the goods from our warehouse in such bad weather; even if the goods are safely delivered to forwarder warehouse, the air or sea may also delayed since it is not wise to fly or sail in such weather.

We will do whatever we can do to deliver the makeup brushes to customers on time, however, we can not control force majeure, and so if we finally are not able to ship on time, we really hope to get the understanding from customers.

Brush hairs in moist weather

It is known that natural hairs will become wet in moist weather, while the finished makeup brushes should be in fluffy appearance, so it will be the best if there is no rainy day during makeup brush production. However, no one can control the weather, raining is the normal situation during makeup brush production, so the hairs often become wet, then how the makeup brush factory should do to keep the fluffy appearance of the makeup brushes?

If the delivery time is not so urgent and since the hairs will restore to fluffy in dry weather, the makeup brush factory can wait for sunny day to dry the hairs, and then pack and ship the makeup brushes once the hairs are dry.

If the delivery time is urgent, and it is always rainy during production, to avoid of shipment delay, the makeup brush manufacturer will add some powders into hairs during production. It is known that powders can absorb moist to keep the hairs dry. Since the makeup brushes are used to apply powders, it will be no problem if some powders leave in the brushes. Anyway, the makeup brush manufacturer will always remove/ shake off the powders from the makeup brushes before packing. If customers find some powder remains after unpacking, they can also shake off the powders by themselves. The method is very simple, just like shaking off the dust from our clothes.

If customers do not want powders during makeup brush production, they should state that they can leave enough time for the makeup brush factory to wait for sunny day, or they can accept the makeup brushes which are not so fluffy after unpacking, as the brushes will restore to fluffy in dry weather, the customers/users can dry the brushes at their location.

Single makeup brush quality can not represent the large quantity

Makeup brush is a manual work, it is not like the products made by machines which are easier to control the batch quality.

 

Human is not like machine which can be set in one status to make the same products. It is known that for machines, the same batch will certainly have the same quality, but it is not the case of makeup brush quality due to the human factor during makeup brush production.

 

For makeup brush factory, it is very easy to manufacture a perfect makeup brush; it may be also easy to manufacture 100 or 1000pcs with good quality, but what about 100Kpcs or even more? The 100Kpcs may be manufactured by tens or hundreds workers, and each one may produce different quality makeup brushes at different status. So in makeup brush production there is no so called the same batch, each makeup brush may vary in quality.

 

So, if you want to custom makeup brushes from a makeup brush factory, do not ask them to offer you the makeup brushes with totally the same quality, it will show your unprofessional and may make you loose in negotiation, and no makeup brush factory will give you such promise, even if they agree, they are giving impossible promise.
