For every makeup brush manufacturer, quality is the life. So we pay much attention on control the makeup brush quality during manufacturing and inspecting. Inspecting, as the last step of quality control, play a very important role in makeup brush factory, as well as other factories in all other fields.

 

Below are some methods and standards during our inspection of makeup brushes.

 

Inspection methods and Instruments

 

Manufacturing Instruction, Inspection Instruction, Visual inspection, Samples, Rulers, Vernier calipers, Micrometer etc

 

Our inspectors will firstly inspect the makeup brush dimension according to customer requirements as well as the confirmed samples

 

Step 2: Then will check the colors of bristles, handles, silver plating or gold plating etc according to customer requirements.

 

Step 3: Check the material, the sponge can not sallow or have rough edges; the bristle can not loose hairs, and bristle will not fade.

 

Step 4: check if the ferrule is firmly stuck to handle, no loose, no glue mark or stains

 

Step 5: Check if the makeup brush set match the requirements

 

Step 6: Test the bacterial and mould fungi content.

 

For custom makeup brushes, makeup brush manufacturers should firmly conform to customer requirements, so effective communication is the most important way to ensure customer requirements.

To return makeup brushes

Today, our inspector came to me angrily; she showed me the sponge applicators returned from one customer. I was surprised by the deformity sponge applicators.

 

All the sponge applicators are melt together, it is hard to separate them by hand, and the handles are also melt. The inspector was very angry about such sponge applicators are returned to us.

 

Obviously, it is not our quality problem, because our working condition is not so hot, in fact not hot at all. So, it should be the customer’s problem. But they returned the products and required replacements.

 

I believe no makeup brush manufacturer can accept such returns, if it is really our quality problem; we will certainly replace them, however, if the problem is caused at customer side, it is unreasonable for us to afford such lost.

 

Therefore, we should claim that: if you would like to return our makeup brushes or sponge applicators, please firstly contact us and let us know the reason, also send us the defects pictures, we will check and advise if returns are acceptable; if we confirm the returns, we will send you an RMA# for track, only after you get the RMA#, you can return the makeup brushes or sponge applicators, after getting your returns, we will send you the replacements ASAP.

You will must be amazed once if you visit our makeup brush factory or workshop.

 

In our workshop, the workers are Combing hairs, mounding hairs, Squeezing ferrule, Dipping glue, assembling and packing.

 

Just like magic, the normal parts become beautiful and elegant makeup brushes in their hands, and will certainly make the worldwide ladies become more and more beautiful.

 

Then the makeup brushes are passed to the inspectors, the inspectors carefully check the brushes one by one, checking if there is any bristle loosing, if the ferrules tightly fit the handle, if the handle is smooth and bright, and so on. They will return any unqualified items back to the production line and pass the qualified makeup brushes to the packers.

 

The packers will firstly weigh individual brushes as well as the whole min package, they will also check if the quantity is correct. If everything is ok, they will put the min package into the carton; our carton size is normally 35*30*35cm.

 

Then it is the time for our logistic department, for small package, they will deliver by Express; for large quantity, they will contact the forwarder to ship by sea.

 

As a makeup brush manufacturer, most of our orders are to custom makeup brushes. So the above process may change via customer requirements. For example, we may need to print logo on the handles; and the min package as well as the outer carton size may also change upon request.  

Reserve the confirmed samples

As a makeup brush manufacturer, we have various orders of custom makeup brushes; each order has different requirements on dimension, color, outline and material etc, so the management of confirmed samples is very necessary for all makeup brush manufacturers.

 

Usually, during quotation, we will communicate with customers about their requirements, and will finally send them samples for confirmation. After confirmation, we will reserve the confirmed samples in our sample book, manufacture and inspect the makeup brushes according to the samples. We will also require the customer to reserve the samples in case of any disagreement in future.

 

If a customer orders various kinds of makeup brushes from us, we will separately establish a sample book for the customer, which will ensure easier traceability.

 

If customer would like to have any change on the samples in future, we will reconfirm the samples and also update the brush in the sample book.

The naming rule of our makeup brushes

For makeup brush manufacturers, as there are so many existing makeup brushes in their sample book, and once there are customers want to custom makeup brushes, the confirmed samples must also be added to the sample book. So every makeup brush manufacturer must have its own naming rule for makeup brushes, although the rule varies from makeup brush factory to makeup brush factory.

 

As for Toney, our makeup brush names are mainly base on the handle size and brush type. For example, 1152C means that the handle size is 11*52mm, C refers blush brush; and 327B means the handle size is 3*27mm, B refers sponge applicator. In our factory, A refers lip pencil, B refers sponge applicator, C means blush brush, and D means lip brush.

AutoCAD is helpful during custom makeup brush

These days, all staffs in our factory are puzzled by a problem.

 

The problem is: a makeup brush supplier (trading company) wants to custom makeup brush from us, they told us their detailed requirements on makeup brushes and package, and we have sent them quotation accordingly.

 

To have a more visual impression, the customer asked us to send them pictures including packing details to show what the makeup brushes we quote is like. While for custom makeup brushes, our quotation is just base on the customer requirements and description, we evaluate the cost on material, manufacturing and packing etc, and then quote accordingly to customers.

 

Our quotation is somewhat a kind of theory. We have no existing makeup brushes that can match or totally the same as the customized one. Therefore, we have no pictures to show the customer.

 

We can understand that our customers want to see what their makeup brushes will look like, while for our factory, or other makeup brush manufacturers, it is rather difficult to achieve. In this aspect, the makeup brush manufacturers are relatively passive.

 

So how to solve the problem and break this bottleneck?

 

After discussion with our engineer, I get an answer. Maybe we can use AutoCAD to draw the pictures of makeup brushes according to customer requirements and description, and then send the drawing to customers for their confirmation.

 

If this method is feasible, it will greatly help our business for custom makeup brushes.
