How to negotiate on MOQ

What is negotiation? According to Wikipedia: negotiation is a process where each party involved in negotiating tries to gain an advantage for themselves by the end of the process. Negotiation is intended to aim at compromise. So, during negotiation, both parties should firstly let the other party know your target and what you need, and then do the negotiation accordingly.
 
For makeup brushes, the most common topic we should negotiate is not price but the MOQ. At the very beginning, we will tell customers that our MOQ is 1000pcs each. We have explained the reason why the MOQ should be 1000pcs in previous articles. While, we often find that customers will disappear after knowing our MOQ. Some customers will tell us that they can not meet our MOQ, so it is no necessary for further discussion.
 
In fact, it is really imprudent to give up at such early step. We know that the customers must source many suppliers for one enquiry; they believe it is no necessary for further discussion with those suppliers who can not offer the best condition at the very beginning. While, without knowing customers any situation or information, it is hard for us to offer our best condition and terms at the very beginning. After receiving any inquiry on makeup brushes, we always ask about customers demand quantity, but only get reply like: please just let us know your MOQ.
 
It will be the best if customers can firstly tell the makeup brush manufacturer their order quantity, then the manufacturer will check if they can do such quantity. Sometimes, as long as the customers really need the brush and will place orders, the makeup brush factory will agree to make just 500pcs each or even 300pcs each even if it is more difficult. However, the customers disappear without any further discussion or explanation.
 
Most makeup brush manufacturers will receive tens inquiry emails every day, it is impossible to tell all customers that their MOQ is 300pcs each since so small quantity is very hard to handle.
 
We believe success cooperation should be after some negotiation; we believe negotiation will finally make both parties satisfied. We really hope that customers can give us more chances for further negotiation or discussion if possible.
