Stick bristles can reduce bristles falling

To reduce the bristles falling during makeup brush production, we have used varoius methods, such as combing out some extra or fly bristles, washing off broken hairs, brush off the heads by hands etc. However, even after these process, there are still some stubborn bristle can not be completely removed. Some customers still find that there are some bristles falling during applyiing makeup.

Although it is normal to have several bristles falling during first usage, we still try our best to reduce the falling quantity to be the minimum. God helps those who help themselves, after our exploration and research, we found a way to remove some more bristles, that is stick off the bristles by adhesive tape.

After assembling the makeup brushes, rolling the brush heads on large adhesive tapes, then the adhesive materials will stick to the bristles, during rolling and pulling, the loose bristles will be left on the tape. Repeat this step for several times, you will find no bristle falling even during cleaning.

Anyway, such method has its limit. For top grade animal hairs, such sticking will somewhat hurt the hair tip, then will affect the hair excellence of the hairs. Therefore, for top grade goat hair like XGF goat hair and ZGF goat hair, it is best not use such process.

For synthetic hair or high/medium/low grade animal hairs, sticking the hairs can greatly reduce the falling quantity. For top grade animal hairs, we will use our hands to brush off the falling/broken hairs and try our best to protect the hair tips.

Use F80 to apply BB or CC cream

What is BB cream? BB Cream was originally developed in Germany in the 1950's. "BB" is short for Blemish Base, Blemish Balm or Beauty Balm Cream. require preproduction samples from chinese suppliers

If you customize makeup brushes from China or South-East Asia, you MUST require preproduction samples before production is launched. Most makeup brush manufacturers will offer preproduction samples, since it is the industry regulations. If your suppliers or manufacturers can not offer you preproduction samples, you should be very careful about their capacity and fames. 1. Always ask for perfect preproduction samples

It is really an obvious principle, but many buyers do not follow it due to various reasons. Some suppliers explain that the lead time is urgent, and they promise that “it will be fine in mass production”, then the buyer surrend.

The problem is, if you do not check preproduction samples, you will not be show a clear standard to your makeup brush manufacturers, which will leave potential problems for future quality inspection. And if you are not satisfied with the makeup brushes you received, you will have to pay much more to solve these problems.

2. pre-production samples are the standard for production

In some other industries, it is very common that mass production is not as nice as the pre-production samples. But for makeup brushes, mass production brushes will be the same as preproduction samples, or even better. We have also explained the reason in previous articles.

If you have a perfect pre-production sample, but are anxious for the mass production quality. You can write down your all your detailed requirements on the brushes, for example, material, size, color code, package etc. Send all these requirements to manufacturers and ask for their feedback and promise on all these points. You should put pressure on the manufacturers and ensure that all your requirements and standard are respected and followed during mass production.

Anyway, for makeup brushes, if the preproduction samples are perfect, the mass production quality will also be perfect, as long as the factory has standard production and inspection system and process. Therefore, ask for preproduction samples is very necessary and essential for customers.

Preproduction samples VS normal samples

Some customers may not be able to understand the meaning of preproduction samples. Pre-Production Sample is the term that is given to the first few pieces created prior to the final production run.

In many other fields, the preproduction samples are the same as normal samples, but for makeup brush industry, these two terms are totally different. The reason is that makeup brush quality is mainly decided by material. If the material is not perfect, the brush will never be perfect. Therefore, to get exactly known of the makeup brushes you order, you should require preproduction samples instead of normal samples.

While to get preproduction samples, customers must firstly place orders or arrange prepayment, so that the makeup brush manufacturers can prepare material and productions accordingly. Therefore, most customers do not want to take a risk to pay so much without ensuring the brush quality, and then require to order some samples first to check the quality and size etc.

But the problem is such samples can not reveal the exact quality of the mass production. For example, customers want to order a powder brush with ZGF goat hair, so they require a sample, then the makeup brush manufacturer produce a sample with the ZGF goat hair in their stock. When getting customer’s approval on the samples, manufacturer will need to order new ZGF goat hair from their suppliers, but such ZGF goat hair will not be the same as the sample hair, as the goat hair will not have the same quality in all seasons, just like our human hairs, the hair in summer will be greatly different from that in winter.

Also, for makeup brush industry, it is very complex to make normal samples, and the samples usually will not as perfect as the brushes from mass production. The reason is that samples will not be manufactured through normal and formal process. For example, the formal process of makeup brush handle shaping is very complex and need a lot of time, so such process require enough quantity. If only one handle, it is impossible to pay so much to do all process, therefore the quality will certainly not as good as mass production. That is why most customers will find that the brushes they received are much better than the samples.

But preproduction samples will not have all above problems. After getting customer’s order or prepayment, the manufacturer will firstly order all materials, and after getting all materials, we will then make the preproduction samples. In this case, all material of preproduction samples will be exactly the same as batch production. Also, we will shape all hairs/ferrules/handles together, so their process will be totally the same as the batch production.

Also, preproduction samples can save a lot of time for customers. As to make samples, we need to order new material for the samples, and then manufacture the samples, the lead time is about 20 days which is almost the same as mass production; but preproduction samples can save so long time. The most important is that the pre production samples can exactly show the quality level of the mass production.

For the customer’s risk- pay so much without ensuring the brush quality, in fact, as long as customers have clear idea on the brushes they want, it will not be a problem. As we will not start mass production without getting customers’ approval on the preproduction samples. Therefore, it will not be a risk if the makeup brush manufacturer is reliable and professional enough.

The painting smell of makeup brushes

Some customers will find that some brushes will have painting smell and are very worried about this smell. In fact, no need to worry about this, this smell is just beccause the handle painting is not completely dry; just put the brushes at cool and ventilate place for several days, the smell will disappear.

 

Some may wonder how this smell exists or why the painting can not be completely dried. Here, we would like to explain as following:

 

During custom makeup brushes, customers and the makeup brush manufacturers will reach a agreement on the price, lead time, payment terms etc. After everything is confirmed, customers will place orders to the makeup brush manufacturers to arrange production.

 

However, due to some reason, customers may require urgent delivery which is shorter than normal lead time. Although we should follow the normal production process, to support customers, we will certainly try our best to meet the delivery date, but if so, we will have no enough time for the painting drying. Or, due to the continous rainy days in our location, the painting will also not be able to dry as sunny days.

 

Although we will use big fans in our workshop to speed up the drying process, that will not help too much in rainy days.

 

In a word, the painting smell is caused by shorter drying time or rainy weather.

 

It will not affect the quality at all, and such smell will disappear after the painting is completely dry. If customers immediately open the packages after getting the shipment and store them at cool and ventilate place, the smell will disappera in several days.

 

If customers can not accept such smell, we will have to leave several more days to wait for the painting drying, so maybe can not meet customer’s urgent delivery requirement. After all, such process can not be controlled by human beings. We hope to get understanding from all customers on this situation.

 

The process for freight collect shipment via DHL/FEDEX/UPS

After the production is finished, the makeup brush factory need to send the shipment to the customers. Usually, the trade terms is FOB or EXW, so customers need to pay the shipping charge.  If ship via DHL/FEDEX/UPS, the charge of freight collect is much more higher than prepaid. There are two ways to save the cost, one way is that customers pay the shipping charge to the makeup brush supplier and then the supplier pay the DHL/FEDEX/UPS; the other is customers reach agreement with their local DHL/FEDEX/UPS and get special discount on the charge of feight collect.

 

When the production is finished and available for pickup. The makeup brush manufacturer should send detailed package information to customers, which includes total weight, total dimension, carton size, carton numbers etc, as well as the detailed pickup address.

 

Then customers will forward such information to their local DHL/FEDEX/UPS to get quotation and arrange the pickup. After everything is confirmed, the customer’s local DHL/FEDEX/UPS will input such information in their global system and instruct the pickup from the manufacturer. It will then generate a control number in the system.

 

After the manufacturer’s local DHL/FEDEX/UPS receive the instruction, they will contact the manufacturer to check all information and will tell the manufacturer of the control number. The manufacturer can call any customer service of DHL/FEDEX/UPS to arrange the pickup by such control number.

 

The most important thing is the consistency of information from both sides. If customer’s local DHL/FEDEX/UPS input wrong information in their system, for example, the pickup address or payer is not correct, or the carton number or weight is not the same as the actual situation, any inconsistency will hold the shipment.The manufacturer’s local DHL/FEDEX/UPS will never pickup the packages unless all information is consistant with that in their system. Therefore, to save time of both sides, manufacturers should ensure that the information they send customers is totally the same as the actual situation, customers also should ensure that they do forward the original information to their local DHL/FEDEX/UPS and ensure that the DHL/FEDEX/UPS staff do input the right information to their system.

 

If all information is consistant, the DHL/FEDEX/UPS will arrange the pickup ASAP, and the manufactures only need to follow their instructions.

 

 

The rainy day delays our delivery

Recently, most area of China have rainstorms and great temperature drop, especially in our location. The rainy day has greatly affects our production schedule.

 

The one who is familiar with makeup brush production must know that weather has great affects on the production process. The main reason is the humid environment is bad for painting and logo drying.

 

To customize makeup brushes from us, most customers have their own requirements on the handle color, and also require their own logo to be printed on the handle. Therefore, we need to paint the handles to the required color, and after the handle becomes completely dry, we can then print the logo on the handle, and only after the logo also completely dry, we can do the assemble.

 

The drying of painting and logo are mostly depends on the weather, in the sunny and dry days, this process can be finished quickly, while in moist and cool days, it will need much more days. Although the makeup brush manufacturer can also use big electric fans to speed up the airflow, it can not help too much in moist day.

 

Therefore, if we meet continue rainy day during the production, it must will delay the production. For example, our normal production lead time is 30 days, although we have been in consideration of some rainy days in this period, if it rains for about 20 days or more, the production period must been more than 35 days. That is also why the lead time in summer is shorter than in winter.

 

To support customers, we always try best to meet the required delivery date, but if we delay several days due to the weather reason, we really hope to get understanding from customers, after all, we can not control any weather or environment factor.
