The dirt on natural mineral makeup and cosmetics

With the global focus in the cosmetic industry on eco-friendly products, chemical companies BASF, Croda, and Dow are manufacturing natural preservatives as well as other natural source personal care ingredients. Natural preservatives incorporated into cosmetic products now allow the consumer an assortment of pure mineral cosmetic brands to choose from in comparison to years past.

 

 

Unfortunately findings still conclude a few of the largest marketed groups of mineral makeup and natural skin care products, as of this date, may be failing to reformulate their products as suggested by physicians. Several mineral makeup companies have even ventured to remove full product ingredient lists from business websites.

 

 

The FDA’s legal policies and guidelines for cosmetics and toiletries are available to everyone.   The Regulations are standardized in hopes that problems like acne, rosacea, and other skin ailments can be prevented.  This cannot occur unless customers read cosmetic policies and ingredient labels. Synonyms may be used by some mineral makeup companies on ingredient labels. Makeup companies realize the problems associated with certain cosmetic ingredients, but findings show makeup brand labels using synonym ingredient names perhaps as a cover-up. Perhaps the ingredient label deception is to prevent sales loss within a business instead of allowing consumers a normal cosmetic ingredient list to make purchasing choices. These cosmetic labeling practices are legal, but are they are not helpful normal cosmetic consumers?

 

 

The cosmetic consumers aware of problematic preservatives, harsh, non-natural ingredients, and misrepresentation on labeling has recently shown a preference in purchasing from smaller natural cosmetics, mineral makeup, and skin care companies.

 

 

Researching makeup and cosmetic ingredients is always the first step to healthy clear skin. Label reading is a must for anyone having known skin allergens to specific cosmetic or mineral makeup ingredients. Don’t be fooled by the hype, research and find facts from reliable sources such as cosmetic chemists and physicians.
