Most ladies know that eyeliner is the most difficult part of the whole makeup. It is hard for a fresh hand to create a perfect eyeliner makeup especially when you have a improper tools.

 

Not like other makeup brush products, eyeliner have different status: eyeliner cream, liquid eyeliner and eye liner pencil, and each equips different eyeliner brush or tools.

 

For a fresh hand, you should not buy liquid eyeliner, otherwise, you will spoil the whole makeup. Eye liner pencil or eyeliner cream will be much better for you. At the same time, you should choose a proper makeup brushes if you buy eyeliner cream. Precision eyeliner brush with soft and slim brush head will not good for you, as such eyeliner brush is very hard to handle, fresh hands will not be able to finish the eyeliner makeup with such brush. The eyeliner brush with more and stiffer brush heads will be easier for you to handle, for example angled eyeliner brush.

 

When you become more and more skillful on the eyeliner makeup, you will have more choice on the eyeliner and brushes. If you prefer liquid eyeliner to creat better eyeliner but not so skillful to use precise eyeliner brush, you can also use brush with more and stiffer heads to apply eyeliner. How to remove the hair smell

Many customers feedback that some of our makeup brushes have heavy smell, especially white goat hair. It is known that goats have mutton smell, so the goat hair certainly will contain such mutton smell. Although we have try to minimize such smell during the sterilization and dyeing, it is very hard to completely get rid of such smell. Especially for the makeup brushes with white goat hair- the original goat hair color, without the processing of dyeing, the smell will be heavier than the brushes with dyed hairs. Careful customers will find that brushes with black hairs have lighter smell than white hairs.

 

Although we will try our best to minimize the smell, it will more or less have some smells left. Here, we would like to show how to remove the goat hair smell if we find the brushes we bought have some smell:

 

1.       wash the bristle with shampoo and then air-dry it. Water can get rid of some smell, and dry it by air can also remove some smell. DO NOT DRY IT UNDER SUN.

2.       If you do not want to wash the brush, or the brush still have smell after washing, you can put the brush in ventilation place for some perido, such as 3-7 days. The airflow will help to remove the smell. Usually, after 7 days, the smell will be removed.

3.       If users do not care such smell too much and can not wait to use the brush, you can also directly use the brushes, the smell will gradually disappear after certain period. Also the fragrance of the powders will gradually cover the goat hair smell.

 

All animal hairs will contain some smell, we hope customers can understand it is not quality problem. We will try our best to remove the smell during our production, but it is really the material characteristics which is hard to be affected by human beings.

 

 

Combine orders to reach MOQ requirement

Many customers know that each makeup brush factory has its own MOQ requirement, while some require 5000pcs, some require 1000pcs, and some require 500pcs or even lower. Some customers are puzzled about so big difference. Here we would like to explain as following:

 

In fact, the material suppliers of the makeup brushes have really high MOQ requirement, at least 5000pcs. But we know most customers can not afford so high quantity at the beginning of their business, so to support these customers, we will try best to combine the orders of all customers to reach our suppliers’ MOQ requirement.

 

For example, one customer order 500pcs powder brushes with ZGF goat hair, but our hair supplier require 5000pcs at least, so we need to combine all other orders with the same ZGF goat hair and then order from our supplier. Also, if a customer order 2000pcs brushes with wooden handle, we will have to find if any other customers need brushes with the same material/size/shape. Otherwise, our handle supplier will not accept our order with 2000pcs.

 

Of course, such method does not always work. As the precondition to combine orders is all customers must need the same material with totally the same size and shape, especially for ferrule and handle. As the ferrule and handle have molds which are not universal even if with slight difference. If a customer need copper ferrule with size 18*12, while another customer need same copper ferrule but with size 15*10, we will not be able to combine these two orders. Or if a customer need 18*12 copper ferrule with cylinder shape, another customer also need 18*12 copper ferrule but with taper shape, we also can not combine the two orders. The brush handle also has the same situation.

 

We will try best to support customers’ business, but sometimes, we really are not able to combine the orders to reach our suppliers’ MOQ requirement. Therefore, sometimes, we can not accept lower order quantity. We hope to get customers’ understanding and full communicationduring customizing makeup brushes.

 

Real samples are the best for quotation

Some customers can not understand why the makeup brush manfuacturers always require real samples for quotation during customizing makeup brushes. As they have specified their detailed requirements on the material/size/color of the brush bristle/ferrule/handle/logo, they believe these information will be enough for quotation. However, detailed description is not always enough, for example the bristle material and workmanship.

 

Recently, we received an inquiry from a customer who have sent us their detailed requirements on the required makeup brushes including the brush drawing and notes of the material and color of each part. Therefore, we quoted accordingly. However, they are surprised by our price and said our price is 50% higher than their current price. We realize that something must be wrong, as our cost will never so higher than others. Therefore, we try to communciate with the customer and get the real samples from them. After evaluating their samples, we know where is the problem. Customer requires #10 goat hair for their brushes, but there are so many grades for #10 goat hair, so we quoted the best grade, but the real material of customer’s real samples are with much lower grade #10 goat hair. Therefore, we requote according to the exact hair grade and customer feels very satisfied with our price.

 

The workmanship is another factor which is not so easy to clarify and explain, but as a manual product, without knowing the requirement on the workmanship, it is not easy to offer exact quotation of the brushes. Different workmanship will cause great difference on price.

 

Sometimes, customers are not so professional on the material and workmanship, so they can not specify exact material grade, which will cause misunderstanding of the makeup brush factory. Therefore, the best effective and safty way is to send real samples to the makeup brush factory, then the factory will know customer’s exact requirements on material and workmanship from the samples.

 

Therefore, during custom makeup brushes, if you have real samples in hand, or if they are available, it will be the best if you can send the samples to us.

 

 

The affect of workers’ turnover to brush quality

We know that makeup brush is purely a kind of manual work, so besides the material, the brush quality totally depends on the workers’ craft. Even we have the best material for our makeup brusehs, if the craft is bad, the brushes will look very ugly and low grade. In another word, skillful and professional workers are the key of a makeup brush factory.

 

However, due to the market environment and special situation, the workers turnover are very frequent in most chinese makeup brush factories. The common situation is: the makeup brush factory pays much to train new workers, but after they are more and more skillful, some workers will leave the factory to find another job not in makeup brush industry. This situation is more common in small makeup brush factory who can not pay enough salary to workers.

 

Since the makeup brush quality depends on workers’ skill, the frequent turnover greatly affects the brush quality. If a factory is always trainning the new staff and let them to make the brushes, the factory will lose all orders sooner or later.

 

The new workers do not know how to mound or cut the hairs, so they are not able to make required bristle shape; they do not know how to skillfuly insert the bristles into ferrules, so some bristles will be exposed outside; they do not know how to connect the ferrule and handle properly, so the joint of ferrule and handle will have gap, glue or burs, or even expose some bristles and dirts, some workers even displace the ferruel and handle. No matter how great the material is, the bad craft will ruin the whole brushes.

 

To save cost and some other reasons, some small factories let the new staff to learn by doing, but it is very rediculous and foolish to have new workers to join the mass production. They will ruin the whole production and even worse will lose the customers’ orders forever due to the bad quality. Eevn worse, some small factiries do not have inspection process, so they send all brushes made by all new workers without any inspection to customers. Such action is just like a suicide, finally there will be no customers for them.

 

The workers turnover is a common situation in this field, it is hard to avoid this by ourselves. But we should try our best to aviod its affect to brush quality. We should not let the new workers join the mass production until they are skillful enough. Even if we let them join the production due to the urgent lead time, we should have strict inspection process on all makeup brushes.

 

Quality is the life of a factory, for makeup brush industry, workers skill is the life of a makeup brush factory.  

 

The flaws of makeup brushes

Makeup brush production is totally manual work, therefore, flaws is somewhat avoidless during production. Some flaws must be improved, while some flaws can be accepted if not affect the usage or appearance.

 

The makeup brushes with the following flaws must be reworked by the makeup brush manufacturer:

1.       Visible apperance flaws: makeup brush is a kind of beauty products or art products, even if we can not require 100% perfect, we can not accept visible flaws on apperance, for example,ferrule nicks. Although we know that the small nicks will not affact our makeup applying, it will affect our mood once we see the nicks during each apply.

2.       inproper bristle shape: to gain perfect makeup, each brush should have their special bristle shape, such as dome, flat or taper. While for some makeup brushes, although the whole shape is good and as required, but after carefully checking, we may find that some position does not conform with the whole shape, so it just look like a gap. Which will not only affect the powder holding but also the apperance.

 

Although the above flaws can not be called quality problem, it really can not be accepted, it can be improved by proper skill

 

However, some flaws can not be avoided, they are caused by the material itself or manual work characteristics, for example:

1.       The wood texture or small salient point: wood is natural products, we can not control its grow, what we can do is to cut them into required shape. Therefore, customers should understand the texture difference of handles, and can not require to rework such difference. No makeup brush factory can gurantee that all brushes are 100% the same. Also, there will be a small salient point on some makeup brush handles. It is very normal for wooden handle.

2.       small and invisible glue mark: our workers gather the bristles by glue, connect the ferrule and handle by glue, adhere brush rolls and holders by glue. Glue is a essential material during makeup brush, so glue marks are inevitable during brush production. Although we will wipe off the visible glue marks during quality inspection, some invisible glue marks may be missed, and can not be found or wiped off. Users should understand that manual work is controlled by human beings, and no manual work can be perfect.

The lead time of the orders before Chinese New Year Holiday.

Chinese New year holiday is almost coming, most chinese makeup brush factories have arranged everything properly and have been ready for the holiday. We know that we will still receive new orders before holiday to customize makeup brushes or order the frequent items, however, no matter what is the situation, the lead time of the orders from now to Chinese New Year holiday will be about 60 days.

The first reason is that our material supplier will have their own production arrangement. Now, the material suppliers are preparing the production of the orders 30 days before. Even if we place the orders to them now, they can not start the production due to the the rush orders. Therefore, if they get our orders before holiday, they can only do related preparation to start production after the holiday.

Secondly, we have shown our holiday arrangement in previous post, we will close our factory during the 15-20 days. Plus the period before holiday, it may delay about 30 days. And our normal production cycle is about 30 days. That is why the lead time will be about 60 days.

However, if customers would like to place orders after our holiday, the lead time will be about 35 -40 days. Therefore, for better cash flow for customers, in fact it is better to place orders and pay prepayment after our holiday even if orders before holiday can help with our production preparation. Whatever, it depends on customers’ preference to order before or after our holiday, our responsibility is to tell customers all truth and do all efforts to support customers.
