The high grade powder brushes and blush brushes

There is usually no difference between powder brushes and blush brushes, both are used to apply powder, therefore should have good powder hold capacity. Most professional makeup brush factories believe that powder brush and blush brush are the same, so we will use powder brush to represent both type brushes in the following.

The powder brushes have different grades depending on different demand. The significant difference is on the bristle material. The powder brush bristle is usually goat hair, while goat hair has more than 20 grades, for the top grade powder brush, the most popular hair is ZGF top grade goat hair. ZGF is the best goat hair, most of MAC powder brushes are with ZGF hair, then is BJF and HJF goat hair. For the high grade powder brush, the hair material should be at least HJF goat hair, and with different hair, the brush price will have big difference, for example, with the same ferrule and handle, the brush price with ZGF will be ten times of the brushes with BJF.

Besides the goat hair, the top grade powder brushes can also use chinchillas or squirrel hair, which will be much expensive than even if ZGF goat hair. The powder brushes with chinchilla’s hairs may reach $200.0 per piece.

Although the hair material is the most important, the ferrule and handle material are also very important. The most common ferrule material is copper for high grade powder brushes, some lower grade will use aluminum; and the handle material is usually wooden, some can be bamboo. The wood material also varies a lot. It can be schima superba, mahogany, rubber wood, birch wood, Dalbergia odorifera, sandalwood, etc. Different wooden handle will have different price. The most popular and cost-effective material is birch wood.

The powder brushes can have flat top or slant top or natural shape depends on different usage. The size also varies, the large powder brush diameter (the part connects the handle) usually 18mm and 16mm; and the length of each part can also be different.

So during your custom makeup brushes, it is best to know your product positioning, as well as your detailed imagination on the brushes, so that you can evaluate your budget and then send enquiry to your makeup brush suppliers accordingly.

on makeup brushes

Not everyone uses makeup brushes. Eyeshadow can be applied on the eye with a finger. Lipstick doesnt need a brush, and mascara, of course, comes with a brush of its own. So why bother to buy makeup brushes?

Atually, makeup brushes are not just an optional extra. They help you apply your makeup with greater accuracy and precision, and they create a significant difference to the finished look. Therefore, if you take your face seriously, a set of good quality makeup brushes could be the best investment youll make.

Types of Makeup Brushes

Unfortunately, when buy makeup brushes; it is definitely not a case of "one size fits all". Different types are designed for different purposes, and for the best possible results, it is a good idea to buy a small selection.
Here are the main types of makeup brushes available:
  • Foundation Brush
While most of us simply rub foundation in with our fingers or apply it with sponge, we are actually missing out on something. A foundation brush has a flat shape and long bristles, making sure that your foundation is absolutely applied and flawlessly blended.
  • Concealer brush
Again, you can just use your fingers, but whether youre using your concealer to disguise a blemish or lighten under eye shadows, a concealer brush is better. It will allow your concealer to be concentrated on the area youre trying to cover and that has to be a good thing!
The momentous of all makeup brushes, your powder brush is used to dust loose powder over your face, setting your makeup and eliminating any shine.
Makeup Artists use three separate brushes on the eyes: a medium-sized one on the lid, a small one to line the socket of the eye, and a larger one to add highlighter to the area under the brow. You can also buy eyeliner brushes to apply liquid eye shadow or to blend eye shadow around the eyes for a smoky, sexy look!
As the name suggests, a blush brush is used to add color to the cheeks. One of the larger of the brushes youll use, it has soft bristles and is intended to blend color as well as apply it.
While lipstick is designed to be applied directly from the case, using a lip brush will provide even more and accurate coverage, plus make your lipstick last longer too! For the longest-lasting application, use your foundation brush to cover your lips with a thin layer of foundation, dust with powder, apply lipstick, dust again, then blot.

Where to Buy

Youll find a selection of makeup brushes for sale anywhere that sells cosmetics. Many people, however, like to buy a matching set, and this can be a good idea as a set will normally contain each of the brushes youll need.

Makeup brushes never last forever. Frequent use that involves coating them in various types of makeup, it is important to make sure that you care for them appropriately. Your makeup brushes should be stored out of harms way after each use, and cleaned regularly with warm water.
