Recently, we are filled with the news from many industries about the great depression. Due to the sharp cutoff of orders, many factories are shut down or move from metropolis to small cities or town. Most companies discuss such severe situation in their meeting and are urgent to find a way to survive and reduce the lost.

 

The great depression also shows its influence on makeup brush industry this year, especially in the next half year. Just take ourselves for example, in the same period of last year, we can get 2-3 new inquires every day, and the old customers also have regular orders. But this year, we hardly receive any new inquiries from August. And the orders from old customers also reduce a lot. Now we can only maintain our normal operation in hope of the worldwide economic recovery

 

Just like most Chinese makeup brush manufacturers, we are trying best to survive from the hard time. However, we never give up even during such difficult time. Without orders, we can make use of our time to develop new attractive makeup brush styles; find way to improve our brush quality; establish better management policy; send some new brush samples to customers for potential demand; review and evaluate our previous product and service to check any improvement room….

 

Being in the makeup brush industry for so many years, we have met so many difficulties. We have full experience to survive in any situation.

 

We really hope that the worldwide economic recovery can come soon!

Current situation of makeup brush industry

In the passed month-May, I really felt the sluggish demand of the makeup brush market.

 

Such sluggish can be seen from the inquiry situation. In February to April, we received new inquiries every day from new customers all over the world, sometimes, 3-4 inquiries every day. While in May, we even got no new inquiry within 7 days, our daily work was just on the normal customers.

 

I am not sure about the situation of other makeup brush manufacturers, maybe some are better than us, some are even worse! The continuous financial crisis firstly did not affect so much on makeup brush industry, but now, it seems that the influence has somewhat come to more and more industry.

 

Now, more and more Chinese factories have to stop production as with no orders, although most of them have tried best to survive in such financial crisis, the worldwide economy just keeps slowdown to wash out those factories that are not so strong.

 

Although our current situation is not as good as before; although the inquiries to custom makeup brushes become fewer and fewer everyday; although the orders are not so many as before; although the customers’ order quantity become less; as a professional makeup brush factory, we will hold on, keep improving our brush quality, increase our market competitiveness and wait for the spring of worldwide economy.

 

We hope and believe the situation will be better sooner or later.

Each industry has its lifecycle, makeup brushes is no exception. The whole lifecycle of makeup brush industry can be divided into the following period:

 

1.       Development period: during this time, the makeup brush manufacture or factory has no income, and also needs to pay a lot of money and labor force for development, thus the sales is 0, the profit is Negative

2.       Infant period: During this period, there is a little sales, but very little, while the cost becomes even more than development period, thus the profit is still negative and even lower than development period

3.       Growing period: During this period, the sales becomes more, and the cost becomes lower, thus, although at the beginning the profit is still negative, it is much better than before; and at the late period, there is some profits.

4.       Mature period: During this period, the sales increases significantly, the profit also increases significantly and will reach the profit peak in the whole period of makeup brushes. 5.       Decay Period: after the peak, the sales and profit of makeup brushes will decline, the profit will become lower and lower. All companies and manufacturers are trying their best to survive this period.

In 2003, the total output of makeup brush industry in China is 600K RMB, in 2004, it rises to 800KRMB; in 2005, rises a little to 1million RMB; in 2006, it becomes 1.3million, and 2007 is1.6million RMB, 2008 is 1.8million, 2009 is 2.4 million RMB. It can be seen that the makeup brush output value is evenly increasing.

The Flavor Fragrance Cosmetics TCS of China National Light Industry for has released the Industry Standard of makeup brushes, as the production guidance of Chinese makeup brush factories.

 

This standard is applicable for all kinds of makeup brushes, cosmetic brushes and sponge applicators made of natural hairs or synthetic fiber, includes blush brushes, powder brushes, Kabuki Brushes, eyeshadow brushes, eyeshadow applicators, lip brushes, eye brushes etc.

 

The standard stipulates the classification, requirements, testing, inspection, marking, packing, shipping and storage of makeup brushes.

 

According to the standard, makeup brush hairs should be even in color, be straight, with good elasticity, no instinct furcated hairs, and the buckle hairs should be no more than 5; the brushes handle should be smooth, no sharp edge, no burr. The standard also has specific requirements on the microbial indicator of bristles.

 

For the package of makeup brushes, according to the standard, it should have product name, manufacturer name, factory address, package size, quality standard, and instruction etc.
