Why not sell brushes to individual users?

 We all know that the end users of makeup brushes are individuals. Some individuals may buy brushes from a beauty shop, some may buy from specialty stores; some may buy from super market or internet. However, few users will directly buy from makeup brush manufacturers or factories.

Firstly, the makeup brush factory will not agree to manufacture or custom makeup brushes with small or only one quantity. As the factory have to order material from their suppliers who have MOQ requirements on the material.

Secondly, even if the manufacturer finally agrees to make, the price will be extremely high, which is not cost-effective for the users. Take logo cost for example, if order 10000pcs, the cost will be shared, and the cost on each brush will be few; but if only one brush, it will be very expensive.

Therefore, although some users would like to have unique makeup brushes with their own name on the brushes, after discussing with most makeup brush manufacturers, they almost have to give up.

Animal or synthetic hair on makeup brushes

Send back brush samples upon request

 During custom makeup brushes, some customers prefer 3D drawings to clarify their detailed and exact requirements on each part. However, 3D drawings requires professional design skills, so some customers prefer to send physical samples to makeup brush manufacturers, so that the makeup brush factory can better understand their requirements on the brush style/material/size etc.

If customers would like to exact copy their own existing makeup brushes, they shall have stocks on hand, so it is no problem to send samples, and sometimes, they wish the makeup brush manufacturer to keep the samples for future orders.

But if customers aim to copy other brands such as sigma or MAC brushes but with their own logo, they have no stocks on hand, and have to buy makeup brushes from Sigma or MAC at high price. Therefore, they usually only buy 1pcs each, if cannot get the samples back, after receiving the batch brushes, they will not be able to check if the brushes are exactly the same as the original ones. At this situation, they will require the makeup brush manufacturer to send back the samples after checking.

Protect makeup brush samples during shipment

Today, we receive some makeup brush samples from a USA customer who want us to exact copy the samples but with their private label. There are more than 10pcs brushes which are directly put into an FEDEX envelop. After opening the envelop and carefully checking brush samples, we find that a powder brush is broken. Maybe it has been broken before shipment instead of shipping damage. Anyway, we have sent pictures of the broken brushes to customer to check if it is broken during shipment.

No matter if it is shipment damage, customers and suppliers should be very careful about the package even if just for samples. During custom makeup brushes, customers may need to send samples to makeup brush manufacturers for quotation, and manufacturers may need to send samples/prototypes back to customers for confirmation. They usually use FEDEX/DHL/UPS to deliver samples, and these express companies will offer free envelop/pack which is very convenient. Therefore, if makeup brush samples are not too many, most will put the samples into envelop/pack.

Since the samples are slim and in small quantity, it is ok to put them into envelop or pack, just be sure that they will not be damaged during shipment. A good way is to put the samples into bubble wrap and then put into envelop, which will prevent brush samples from being cracked during shipment. Some express companies also offer bubble envelops, which will be the best for brush sample delivery.

If without bubble wrap or bubble envelop, do not put the brushes directly into envelop, it is best to put the samples into carton package which can also prevent shipment damage.
