Here we need to explain something about injection molding. It is true that the molding cost is high, but with such mold, the following cost on each brush handle will be very low. The plastic factory staff only need to put raw material into the mold, and comes out the exact required handles. With such mold, the handle dimension and shape will be 100% the same as request. And it only needs one mold no matter how many handles you need, also, it can be used in all following orders.

Of course, if the order quantity of the makeup brushes is too small, it is not cost-effective to develop a mold, as with such molding cost, the average price of each brush will be high. In this case, it is better to change the handle to wooden handle.

The makeup brush drawings for customizing makeup brushes

During customizing makeup brushes, many customers send us physical samples or drawings per our request. Physical samples are the best choice in case of misunderstanding, but some designs are new to the market, so no available physical samples, so they send us 2D or 3D drawings instead to show their ideas and designs on the makeup brushes.

For some customers, 2D or3D drawings are too professional, the cost to have the engineer to create the 3D drawings is too high, so they prefer to draw draft by themselves. We can also accept such draft as long as the information on the draft is clear enough, with such draft, we can initially quote a rough cost, and move on forward.

The following is the required information on the makeup brush draft:

1.  The diameter/length of handle& ferrule& bristle; if the dimension of each part is different, all dimension should be marked.

2.  The material of handle& ferrule& bristle

Some customers send us the draft only with the brush shape, without any dimension information; we can not quote or produce with such drafts. So if customers cannot offer 2D or 3D drawings, please at least provide drafts with all above information.

Typhoon Mangkhut caused production shutdown of most makeup brush factories

Yesterday-Sep 16th, Typhoon Mangkhut moved across the inland area of southern China, and caused heavy damage on the local area. The Maximum sustained wind near centre was75 km/h, before its coming, all of our local schools and factories are shutdown in case of any casualties.

Our factories also stopped production on makeup brushes, our workers stayed at their home until the typhoon passes. So the makeup brush orders that are scheduled to ship out maybe delayed several days, as all logistics also stopped working due to the typhoon. Also, the incoming storm will also cause the delay on production and logistics.

We will back to work as soon as possible, and offer our best service to all customers who want to customize makeup brushes with private label from us.

The minimum order quantity of our makeup brushes

Many of our customers are new or just starter of makeup brush business, so the issue they most concerned during customization of makeup brushes is the minimum order quantity. However, we always firstly require customers to send us their requirements on the brushes, so that we can check the MOQ accordingly. Customers may be puzzled, why we have no standard MOQ on our makeup brushes?

In fact, since the makeup brush production is manual, we actually have no MOQ requirements on the production. The reason we have MOQ requirements on the customers is our suppliers have the MOQ requirements for their production. Therefore, if we can find existing materials on the market and customers do not need logo on brushes, then there will be no MOQ requirements. The most common situation is that some customers just want the latest hot sales in the market, and do not need their logo on the brushes, then we can easily find material from the market, in this case, we will have no MOQ requirements.

For customized makeup brushes, since customers have special requirements on brushes, we are not able to find existing material, and have to order from the suppliers, the MOQ will be high; if the material is easy to produce, the MOQ will be lower; if the material is difficult to produce or have strict requirements, the MOQ will be higher. So customers may find that for some brushes, the MOQ is 1000pcs, while for some is 3000pcs or more.

Finally, for makeup brushes with plastic handles which require molding, the MOQ will be at least 5000pcs, as the molding cost is high, if the order quantity is too small, the unit price will be too expensive to enter into market.

Restate our sample policy

Almost everyday, we are required to send samples for quality checking by our customers. Some customers require the samples in our stock to see our ability and quality level as a makeup brush factory; some customers want to customize their own makeup brushes with their own design and private label, so they want to check required sample quality before ordering.

For the samples in our stock, we will not charge any sample fee, but customers should afford shipping charge. If customers have DHL/FEDEX/UPS/TNT account, they do not need to pay anything to us, we can send samples immediately. But most customers have no shipping account, and want to pay the shipping charge to us and we arrange the shipment. Some customers cannot understand why they still have to pay around USD50.0 for one single sample in our stock, they consider we charge ridiculous fees. However, such charge is shipping charge which not charged by us but the shipping agent. We can not offer any discount on such charge. For security reason, some customers insist that they will not pay the shipping charge until they have the tracking number of the samples, but the fact is: we ship the samples not via official DHL/FEDEX but their agent who can offer cheaper price, so we should firstly send the samples to them and then they will give us tracking number 1 day later. So we cannot accept shipment first without shipping charge.

For the customized samples without logo, if we have the material in stock, or it is easy to find the required raw material, we will not charge sample fee either, so the same situation as samples in stock, customers only need to pay shipping charge. If the brushes are special and need to produce raw material for them, we will need to charge sample fee accordingly.

If customers need logos on samples, we will always charge sample fee, as we need to develop printing plates for the logo which is expensive and we cannot afford this charge since so many sample requirements everyday. For the charged samples, we will refund the sample fee after getting mass orders. Shipping charge will not be refunded.

Talk something about 3D printing during customizing makeup brushes

Since we a makeup brush factory that specialize in customizing makeup brushes with private label, we often get some creative designs on the makeup brushes. While to ensure the brush function, brush hairs have limit space for special design; ferrules-no big meaning to have special design, so handles become the normal part for customers to express/show their special designs and thoughts. You may find mermaid handles, sword handles, crutch handles sand so on in the market, and these creative handles make the brush look more fantastic and beautiful.

However, these handles need molding which requires high order quantity, so during initial design process, many customers choose to produce a prototype by 3D printing to test the market. If the feedback is good, they can consider putting the makeup brushes into mass production.

Recently, some customers are puzzled, because their 3D printing supplier told them that the prototype was completely produced by 3D printing, why we tell them the brush handle needs molding?

It is known that 3D printing cost is high- about USD500; we cannot use 3D printing for all of our brush handles. For mass production, we have to use different process to reduce the cost, therefore, we need to develop a mold for the handle, and put materials into molds to produce required handles, in this case, if the order quantity is big enough, the handle cost will be very low.

In summary, 3D printing is only proper for prototypes, but not affordable for mass production.
